It's always interesting to come home and discover what new lies have been spun in the papers in comparison to what actually happened.
I think, somewhere inside myself, I honestly believed that Dumbledore couldn't actually die. You reach a certain age, you gain a certain level of power and talent, and you become invincible. I wonder if wizards like him realise that they're as timeless as everyone else believes them to be. What can that possibly feel like? Knowing that people will still be talking about you centuries from now, knowing that people will attend masquerades and costume parties dressed as you?
And now generations in the future, maybe not even 100 years from now, he will only be known as some villainous old man who got drunk on power, because that's how they want him seen. I think it says something, though, that he probably won't be able to be completely erased from history. That's what being influential is.
He always remembered my name. That always kind of made me feel special.

I forgot until today that we've got a February 29th this month. I used to think that Leap Years were the coolest thing ever when I was little, that the impossible was possible and that new dimensions could be discovered on the 29th, that we had this awesome opportunity to make something amazing happen. Tonight should be fun. Or.. time-wastey. I'm heading over to Todd's place tonight, and he, Edwin, Claire, and I are watching The Wizard of Oz set up against Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. Edwin swears on his life that the two match up, and that it's "crazy trippy," but I'm not sure if I buy it. I suppose I'll find out tomorrow.

Holy roasted tomatoes it is FREEZING in my flat. I'm pretty much positive that it's getting colder in here the more I turn the heat up, and there's only so much that warming charms can do. My hands are warm again (I can feel that I'm holding a quill!) but my feet are still missing in action. Isn't heat supposed to rise? I think the fish shop downstairs is stealing all of it.

You can always tell when couples are newly dating because they sit on the same side of the booth together to snuggle in restaurants. You wouldn't expect that, I don't think, since it makes it harder to play footsie, but that's what they do. It's nauseating. I'm surprised that Mr. and Ms. McFluffy Heaven of Cuddles haven't requested the waiter bring them two straws for one beverage.
If that occurs, I'm getting my dinner to go. If I don't lose it first.
Edit: Oh, isn't that sweet. She just fed him her cherry. Riiiight.
Edit #2: And now they're having a whipped cream "fight," and this woman completely just "accidentally" got it on the end of her nose on purpose. That's not cute, honey, it's messy. You look like a child with multifunctional motor skills.
